Kammeropera of Vienna [ENA] L’ARBORE DI DIANA is an opera by Vicente Martín y Soler, presented at the Kammeroper Vienna. Vicente Martín y Soler was a Spanish composer of the late 18th century. He was born in Valencia in 1754 and died in 1806. He wrote over 20 operas. Libretto was written by Lorenzo Da Ponte who was an Italian poet, librettist, and teacher who is best known for his collaborations with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Born in 1749 in Ceneda, Italy, Da Ponte was educated in a seminary and ordained as a priest in 1773. He was appointed as the official poet to the court of the Holy Roman Emperor Joseph II in Vienna in 1783.

The baroque music was performed by the Rubén Dubrovsky, those Bach Consort Wien ensemble is a unique group of musicians dedicated to performing music from the Baroque and Renaissance eras on period instruments. Founded in 2008 by Rubén Dubrovsky, the ensemble has become one of the most sought-after groups of its kind in the world. The ensemble is made up of some of the finest musicians in the world, all of whom specialize in playing period instruments.

The topic of sexual orientation and freedom of expression was in focus of the modern installation of the opera. The theme of sexuality is explored in many operas, often through the use of symbolism and metaphor. She quickly gained recognition for her powerful and emotive performances, and her unforgettable voice.

A special mention should go to the role of Amor virtuously performed by Maayan Licht who is a baroque opera singer from Amsterdam. He has been performing has developed a unique style of singing that combines traditional baroque opera with modern influences. Maayan is the winner of several awards and has performed in many of the world's most prestigious opera houses. Maayan's voice is extremely powerful and expressive.

L’ARBORE DI DIANA by Vicente Martín y Soler was a truly remarkable experience. The production of the Theater an Der Wien performed at the Kammeroper Wien was a stunning visual and aural feast. The set design was interesting, with realities of a school or public amenities in a not so well off public location. The music was sublime, with wonderful Baroque tradition that perfectly complemented the action on stage. The singing was superb, with the cast delivering powerful, impressive and really engaged play.
